Vynl Hells Kitchen (Closed Permanently)

(84 Ratings)
Eclectic American with hint of Thai
If you ask (for kitsch), you shall receive (kitsch). Killer American Thai cuisine meets over the top displays of your favorite collectable dolls (Britney, Donnie & Marie, Sonny & Cher) in this Hells Kitchen favorite with a kick of just the right spice. The bartenders are adorable and know how to make so much more than a mojito.

Great atmosphere, staff, food and the bathroom and music is one to enjoy. My favorite hood eatery.

Fun Fun Fun take on a diner

The first time a friend brought me to Vynl, his comment was "You have to go to the bathroom." I thought he was nuts...then I got it. The food is consistently good, as are the drinks. It's a fun, little bit funky, environment that is comfortable and reasonably priced.

Errors in menu

I love this place!!! Great decor And super nice people. HOWEVER, menu items marked as vegetarian, such as the Pad Tai, are NOT vegetarian (fish sauce etc.). I asked them to change their menus many times -- alas no luck. They will accommodate you and make the dishes vegetarian or even vegan! But you would need to know to ask for it. Favorite vegan Pad Tai ib the city!!!

Fun, good, affordable, in the middle of it all

Can you ask for more? Standard American fare, with an extra touch of sophistication but no extra $$$. Not to be missed: the Justin Timberlake/Christina Aguilera (or whatever teen stars they were) bathrooms.

The perfect place to take visitors

I find Vynl to be the perfect place to take people when they're in town and on a budget. The food is usually very good and the fun, retro atmosphere is unlike any restaurant most people experience outside of NYC. I've always had good service here. The thai selections, latin scramble, and meatloaf are really great as are the cocktails, though the drinks are a tad overpriced.
