This neighborhood hangout was all the rage in the late 90s. It cooled down a bit since then but still brings in the NYU boys and girls. The jukebox always has good music playing and the atmosphere is true East Village.

Great neighborhood bar
Great bartenders, especially Alec and Nana. Good strong drinks. Great music. FRIENDLY patrons, if you know what I mean. :-)
Total Shit Pot
Went with a bloke their who was straight as we had been going to str8 bars all night, was very disappointed with the overall environment, scary creepy ol peeps and horrible lighting. If you feel like being raped knock yourself out!
If you're around there
I wouldn't make a special trip to come here, but if your in the lower half of East Village, pop on in. Good, strong happy hour too. Tends to be empty quite often, but the bartenders are great as is the jukebox. Rag tag crowd.
Boiler Room
This bar is okay. Its not packed and its a great place to go with friends for a nice quiet night. Like it.
Great local bar
VERY friendly. Good mix. Definitely for the 20's/30s set. Easy place to pick up a date for the evening. Tends to be busiest from 11p-2a. Beers are 5 and 6 which is a little pricey given the dinge. Great jukebox. Annoying as hell door guy.
