Eastern European Commie Kitsch

Eastern Bloc is a small bar in the East Village just SW of Tompkins Square Park. This bar is decorated in Eastern European kitsch with red lights partout and 2 small video screens. I was there an hour or two before closing on 5/11/15 and there were 10 people there including the DJ and bartender (who was very nice and is from my hometown of Baltimore.) Plus some animal heads--look for the "goat check" in particular. :) Things seem to quiet down Sun. nights after 2 AM. There was no cover and I paid $8 for a rum and coke. Patrons seemed to be mostly locals and there were no go-go boys, unless you count the drunk patrons. :D I would probably go back at a more popular time.
