If you where in NYC that hot August 13th night in 2003 you'd have story or two to tell. Mine goes something like this....
I had just moved to a new apartment in the east village and had a case of beer that was going to get warm fast. I brought it outside and shared it with my roommate and any sexy east village guys that came by. It was a scorcher (over 31 °C or 88 °F) so the case didn’t last but more guys came back to replenish. As the sun set we heard the Phoenix was trading beer for candles. I grabbed a bunch and headed over. People where getting crazy, almost primal! Midnight was coming and bunch of us headed over to the original location of the Cock on 12th and A. The place was packed with sexy out of towners and it was darker than usual, with just candles on the bar and a few people with flashlights here and there. People couldn't shower so it was a little sweatier and riper in a good way. It was still hot out and inside too. Shirts where off, cell phones where dead, and It was pretty much anarchy in it's best form. There was no back room - the whole bar was a darkroom. Someone spilled a warm beer all over my shirt and before I knew it, it was over my head and on the floor....
