DJ Quik (DJ Set), headliner
DJ Quik, born David Martin Blake in California, began his career in the late 1980s as a rapper and producer. His first album, Quik is the Name, was released in 1990, followed by eight more—his latest, The Midnight Life, was released in 2014. He has collaborated and contributed with artists such as Dr. Dre, 2Pac, El DeBarge, 50 Cent, and Rakim.
Stretch Armstrong (DJ Set), support
New York City native Adrian Bartos, aka Stretch Armstrong, has been DJing for the past three decades. In the 1990s, he launched the radio show “Stretch and Bobbito Show” with Bobbito Garcia on Columbia University’s WKCR (89.9FM). The show inspired a documentary film, called “Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives.” Also a label owner, A&R director, music supervisor, and writer, Stretch has produced records for Lil Kim, Jay-Z, Capone-N-Noreaga, Tragedy Khadafi, Mobb Deep, Eminem, 50 Cent, Ruff Endz, Amel Larriuex, and others.
