What did it take to achieve marriage equality in New York? This documentary follows the nations oldest all-volunteer grassroots organization on its journey to achieving full marriage equality in the state of New York.
The story behind "History In The Making:" Although Marriage Equality New York (or MENY) was in existence since 1998, this documentary contains archives from 2007-2014 when activist and filmmaker Fred Anguera began volunteering and became their unintentional, unofficial archivist.
The film features former MENY Board President Cathy Marino-Thomas as she leads us through protests, rallies, speeches, marches, college debates with opposition leaders, meetings with state law-makers and a walking/biking tour through NY State.
History In The Making also features Edith Windsor, Ron Zacchi, Margaret Cho, Brendan Fay, Senator Tom Duane, Gilbert Baker, Assemblyman Daniel J. O'Donnell, Cynthia Nixon, Lt Dan Choi, Rev. Pat Bumgardner, Ann Northrop... and many more as they help Marriage Equality New York transition into Marriage Equality USA.
