Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell: The Sidor Belarsky Songbook

African-American by birth, Jewish by choice and fresh from the world of opera, Russell now performs the Yiddish repertoire of the famed Sidor Belarsky, one of the 20th century’s most celebrated performers of Yiddish art song. Russell’s rich basso cantante evokes Paul Robeson as much as Belarsky himself.

"The new voice of Yiddish song."
