Therapy (Closed Permanently)

(656 Ratings)
Hell's Kitchen hot spot
This lounge bar attracts a large crowd of beautiful boys and has become THE spot in Hell's Kitchen. The layout is funky and is dominated by small couches and tables with groups of friends socializing. The music is always loud, the martinis strong and food is served until midnight daily.

disappointing

i used to love this place while visiting new york, very trendy, big, 2 levels, cute guys... but the last two times i have been, they have had "talent" shows with screaming drag queens. i love a good drag show, but this was far from entertaining and made it impossible to talk with anyone

Don't Know Why

Not sure why I like this place.. But I do. It is a great space and they actually have really good food. Always a fun & upbeat crowd.

Good looking crowd...

Good looking crowd, fun music, impressive architecture -- so why don't I like it very much? It's a hard place to meet people partially because its so open and cavernous. There's no real center or focal point.

Chelsea in Hell's Kitchen

Since its debut, Therapy rapidly become the place to see and be seen in Hell's Kitchen and helped solidify the neighborhood's status as the new gay ghetto. The crowd is well-dressed and generally well-behaved, for better or worse. While the bar tries a bit too hard to be fabulous, it is an attractive space and its 2 floors and deep layout offer lots of places to wander and meet people. The brick walls really amplify the sound, so if you don't like noisy places, avoid the crowded times.
