The Cock Formerly: The Hole

(396 Ratings)
Long-standing hole-in-the-wall gay bar

The Cock is one of the few remaining cruising spaces in New York City. It offers a two-level interior with a dark room in the basement. The venue is known for its backroom scene, while the main room hosts themed parties, go-go dancers, and DJs, all under a discreet neon rooster sign.

Rauchy fun time...hope it fits in the Hole

This East Village dive was packed with hot and frisky Abercrombie types. NYC laws (decency, smoking, you name it, did not seem to apply) The sometimes closed, sometimes dark back room got it into trouble at times over the years. The owners finally closed the Ave A/12th St location and have re-branded their other bar (formerly "the Hole" on 2nd Ave) as "the Cock." Let's hope it fits.
