Splash (Closed Permanently) Formerly: SBNY

(229 Ratings)
CLOSING AUGUST 10TH
Most out-of-towners consider this a must-stop when in NYC. Large video screens blare dance remixes, hot bartenders/waiters serve you strong drinks, and offer weekly themed party nights (like Thursday's Campus party for the college boys, bring your college ID for free admission) with dancing, go-gos and more. Too much for you? Then stop in their lounge downstairs. Oh, and make sure you go to the bathroom (or is that the lounge?). Either way it's worth the trip.

Address
50 W 17Th St
New York, NY 10011

Near: Between 5th & 6th Ave.

Still one of my favorites in NYC

I know the new area is "Hells Kitchen" but this club still holds something special. I hadn't been here for over 15 years and it was still just as it was. Full of hot guys of all ages, half naked bar staff and good strong drinks. The gogo boys are okay, but there aren't as many as they used to have and they aren't as friendly. They seem to get mixed in with the dance floor instead of being a point of attraction. Anyway, I would say if you haven't been here it is a must stop in the city.

OK place

I went to Splash like 4 times. The last time I ve been there - thursday night- i did not have a good time at all. First of all, i asked for a beer to the bartender, and he immediately ASKED for tips. I paid the beer and he literally said NO TIPS FOR ME?. What kind of attitude is this? I understand that in NYC tips are aprecciated everywhere, but that is something you have to win, not ASK to a customer. Then, i was sitting on a chair on the bar and then a guy comes and tells me I NEED THE CHAIR. And I asked WHY? i did not even say NO, I just wanted to know why he needed the chair - he wasnt asking for chairs to anybody else- . He then called the security guy instead of explaining to me why i could not use the chair. That really freaked me out. Also, the gogo dancers attitude SUCKS. They cruise all around the place dancing and flirting to old guys just to get money. In this place you will really find the worst of the gay community.
