What we say

The legendary Cherry Lane
Cherry Lane Theatre is a lab for the development of new American works. Edna St. Vincent Millay's colleagues founded the space in 1924 and since then plays by legends such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Eugene O'Neil, Gertude Stein, Edward Albee, Joe Orton, and Sam Shephard have debuted here. Stars such as John Malkovich, Bea Arthur, Barbara Streisand, and Rue McClanahan have all performed here. Their regular programming includes a Heritage & Discovery Series, a Mentor Project, and a full reading series featuring upcoming and established playwrights.
