Bistro-a-go-go

I have a paranoid feeling that all mid-level gay-area restaurant menu designers all read exactly the same magazine because they basically all serve almost identically the same food. I had dinner at "Cafeteria" earlier this week, which had meatloaf & mashed, pan-roasted chicken, hangar steak, iceberg chunk salad, and then came to Elmo, and what did they have on the menu - meatloaf & mashed, pan-roasted chicken, hangar steak, you get the picture. Utterly predictable, but well-prepared food, bistro style (better than diner, worse than restaurant), friendly attentive staff (or was it my 19" arms in a skintight shirt), and expensive. Frozen margarita served in a glass tumbler seemed to lack a certain, uh, flair. Similar to Cafeteria, similar to similar restaurants in LA, San Francisco, and so on. Heavy on huge-muscled eyecandy as patrons.
