It's a nice place to check out...
I am a singer and I go there to sing! It is a nice 2 level bar/lounge. There are older men there. The only issue that I have is that sometimes the older men try to grope you too much, especially if you're younger. It's supposed to be a gentlemen's club, not a bathhouse.
What a Dump!
This bar is owned by the same cheapskates that own The East & Westside Clubs here in NYC & some motels in FT Lauderdale. Yes the bar scene has changed all over but why is The Townhouse operated as such. THe décor is a cheap bordello look done by someones drunk Aunt. The piano players have to be the worst from high school.....mind you the drinks are not cheap $$$ so why is all so ...CHEAP! The crowd stand around & look at their phones..why socialize wen its all downhill. The bathrooms, Carpets & furniture need replacement because they are so dirty.... Too bad another bar in NYC in the dumo!
A nice bar with an unfortunate crowd of hustlers who are both subtle and blatant in their approach. While I realize that a boy has to make a living somehow, they should stick to grinder and leave this otherwise pleasant piano bar alone!
Friendly and fun
I visited the Townhouse last week as I do every time I am in NYC. I am glad to say it has not changed. People are still friendly, the music is great and I had lots of fun with charming young and old guys.
A nice Friday night
Checked out this place on my last visit to NYC and was very pleasantly surprised. Some of the stuff on the 'net had led me to believe it was mostly young hustlers and very old men, but I found on a Friday night a nice, goodlooking and mature crowd. The place also had a nice set up with a bar in front, a piano bar in the back, a quiet place downstairs and a few nice little sitting areas. I'll be back someday.
