Patricia Fox - PurelyPatricia
New York artist and fashion muse Patricia Fox, is renowned for her colorful, head to toe PurelyPatricia personal style. A cultural commentator, she is a sought after on-air talent, interviewer, and a favorite subject for photographers and artists. Patricia has achieved successful careers in merchandising, beauty, wardrobe styling, jewelry design, art, and interior decorating. Patricia is a popular source of inspiration to an eclectic audience. Through her creative vision and styling talent, she is honored to be collaborating with Housing Works on a newly themed event called “People With Purpose” bringing real New York creatives together in the form of mannequins representing themselves and their unique personalities.
Barbara Flood – Flood’s Closet
Barbara Flood is a definite original! She began her career as a model working for Rudi Gernreich, Mister Mort, and Valentino. Barbara has acted in films alongside Dennis Hopper, Orson Welles, and Jack Nicholson. Today, she owns a traveling boutique called Flood’s Closet that carry’s vintage clothing, art-to-wear, furniture, and paintings. Barbara also offers styling for theatre, cabaret, and film productions. Barbara is excited to be part of Housing Works’ PurleyPatricia event.
Barbara Littman
Barbara Littman passed away in March of 2017 at the age of 74. Her family has generously donated a closet to Housing Works' People with Purpose event in her honor. Barbara was a celebrated professor, philanthropist, architect, and interior designer. She was also a Docent at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City. Barbara was instrumental to the growth of Littman Jewelers by modernizing store design and displays. Barbara’s legacy will live on through the event display and the meaningful work she completed throughout her life.
The Baroness
The Baroness is New York’s premier designer of elegant provocative latex fashions. The Baroness’ motto is “Any occasion to dress is an occasion to overdress”, and with that in mind she has created distinctive and outlandish fashions for celebrities such as Beyoncé, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Nikki Minaj, and Katy Perry. At her East Village boutique, shoppers can find pieces designed and handmade by The Baroness herself. With a wide array of colors and styles, there’s a lovely latex look for everyone!
Ben Copperwheat
Ben Copperwheat is a print designer and artist who produces clothing, art, and interior pieces. He has created textile collections for fashion brands such as Gucci, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and 3.1 Phillip Lim. His work has been commissioned by Beyoncé, Boy George, and Liza Minelli. Ben is represented by iconic New York City stylist, Patricia Field. He recently showed as part of Field's Art/Fashion collective during New York Fashion Week. His work has also been showcased at Art Basel Miami, Luisa Via Roma luxury boutique in Florence, Italy, and the Schimanski Club in Williamsburg.
Carli Beardsley
Carli Beardsley began designing and building costumes, props, and scenery in the early 1990’s. She is known for her work as a professional costumer, milliner, and tailor for hundreds of stage, television print, and film productions. Carly’s clientele ranges from the American Ballet Theatre and Metropolitan Opera to Cirque De Soleil. Today, Carli runs her own sewing and millinery studio in the arts district of Long Island City.
David Santiago – Strictly Santi
David Santiago is an interior and furniture designer known for his eye for style and use of color. David is a huge advocate of the design trade and owner of Casa Santi Interior Design, which he started in 2011. Catering to both residential and commercial clients one can always tell when its space has been "Santified" by his signature mix of traditional with the unexpected. David has recently ventured into designing his Strictly Santi furniture, which celebrates his signature style. Also an accomplished opera singer, David's talents have led him to perform on the stages of Lincoln Center, New York City Opera and Carnegie Hall. Whether staging a design project or performing on stage David's integrity and talent always shine through.
Jana Platina Phipps – Trim Queen
Jana Platina Phipps, also known as the Trim Queen, is an embellishment expert in home furnishings and fashion. Her trimmings collections are sold in retail stores and her custom designs are sought after by product designers. Jana knowledge on the history of passementerie has allowed her to lecture at the New York School of Interior Design and design centers across the country. She shares how the design community uses trimmings on her blog, The Trim Queen Chronicles, and on her social media channels. She serves on the International Textile Alliance Board of Directors, is the longstanding co-chair of the WithIt New York Design Tour and is planning a Trim Queen Maker Tour of Venice Italy for Fall 2018.
Kathryn Hausman – Medusa Heirlooms
Kathryn Hausman is the designer and owner of Medusa Heirlooms, a wholesale French Hair Accessory company that has been in business for over 40 years. She sells her Medusa collection to specialty shops, spas, boutiques, gift stores and salons worldwide. She was president of the Art Deco Society of New York for fifteen years and is an avid collector of Art Deco lady statuary, posters, jewelry, accessories, and clothing. Kathryn’s collection honors the beauty of the “Art Deco Woman,” she hopes to open a museum with her acquisitions.
Lisa Wheeler – Daily Burn
Lisa Wheeler is the owner of Wheels In Motion Productions and VP of Fitness for Daily Burn, a Daytime Emmy Nominated Executive Producer, and two-time New York Times Best Selling author. Behind the camera, Lisa has helped produce over 500 fitness programs for ”Dancing with the Stars”, “The Biggest Loser”, Bob Harper, and Richard Simmons. In front of the camera, she starred in over 30 fitness videos for Weight Watchers, Acacia, the NFL Channel and Shape Magazine. Prior to her fitness career, Wheeler was a professional dancer in NYC performing most notably in the companies of Dan Wagoner and Ben Munisteri until her retirement on the stage at Lincoln Center in 2009.
