17 BORDER CROSSINGS - Staged Reading

17 BORDER CROSSINGS weaves together accounts of disparate international crossings to create a global picture on the arbitrary lines we create and the absurdity and tragedy in crossing them. An improvised version of this solo work has been on tour and now the project is being crafted for full theatrical production - this presentation will launch the final development stage of the text. This 'staged-reading' includes experiments with narrative structures and perspectives, iPhone lighting, a mini Fender amp, live world radio, a table, chair, and glass of water. Some of the borders to be theatrically crossed include: ANGOLA//UNITED KINGDOM; JORDAN//IRAQ; CZECH//POLAND; USA//MEXICO; HUNGARY//SERBIA & ISRAEL//JORDAN; plus a curious and perhaps ironic arrival at Newark's 'Liberty' Airport.
