Pronto Comics "Phrases to Pages" Returns!

Pronto Comics is hosting its second annual “Phrases to Pages" fundraiser at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue, on Saturday, February 23 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The event will feature contests, industry guests, refreshments, music, and more, including free drinks courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery. Bring your portfolios and scripts, as Pronto Comics will also be reviewing portfolios and scouting for new talent.

Phrases to Pages offers a great opportunity for comic creators to network, meet industry pros, get advice on how to break into the comics industry—and of course have a great time! The funds raised will help Pronto provide publishing resources to aspiring creators.

Contests will consist of writers and artists pairing off, being given a mystery phrase, and drawing and writing one comic book page based on the phrase. Winners will be judged by industry heavyweights Chris Sotomayor, Chris Batista, and Jamal Ingle. Winners will receive prizes!

Additional information can be found at and at our Twitter pages, @ProntoComics and @Phrases2Pages. Entry is only $10. RSVP on Facebook is requested but not required.

Please note, this event is 21+ only.

Pronto Comics is a New York City-based group that founded in 2009 from several aspiring comics creators who all came out of the online Comics Experience Workshop. Pronto Comics offers a variety of opportunities for creators all over the country, including editorial services, guest lectures from industry insiders, online exposure, networking, and assistance with self-publication at no cost.
