DREAMers is a work of investigative theater in development as part of The Civilians Investigative Theater Education Program in Brooklyn, NY exploring stories from the young undocumented
immigrants of America. With the Obama
administration’s recent implementation of
a deferred action program, which
grants certain immigrants work permits, these young people occupy a fragile and tumultuous place in America’s social
fabric. The words in this show are from the
DREAMers of America- young adults
fighting for their place in the American dream.

Undocumented and unafraid, these are the
voices of a people coming out of the
shadows and into the light.

DREAMers is based on an extensive research process conducted by actors in New York City through interviews with undocumented youth. Some of the interviewees names have been changed for anonymity, but their words are verbatim.
