To all visual artist and community members,
As the curator for "Paint the Town Red Art Project," -A GLBT art protect in remembrance of people affected by HIV/ AIDS- I am inviting all visual artist* (painters, digital media, graffiti artist, photographers, performers) to participate in this inaugural event. The participating artists will have their works exhibited on Transgender Remembrance Day, on November 20, 2012; at Christopher Street Pier; The art will serve as the backdrop during a ceremony honoring the late LGBT members who spearheaded the gay rights movements. The art project is part of a broader program sponsored by GMAD -The worlds first and oldest non-profit organization that provides services and advocacy to Gay Man of African Decent, and other minorities.
The event will be held in the spirit of in the spirit of celebrating the history and legacy of the New York's Ballroom Culture of the late 70’s and early 80’s.
You do not have to be Gay in order to participate and contribute your talent to this great cause. Everyone is welcome!
All art supplies will be provided for any artist who needs material to work. We will be able to provide canvases, paint, brushes, or any other supply necessary to create a piece of artwork for this event.
Any profit from art sales will benefit GMAD.

Beginning on Wednesday, November 14; art supplies will be available for pick up in two locations; Brooklyn and Manhattan.

*For artists living outside of New York City that would like to submit their works, we will accept your submissions if you can mail them to our office by November 19, 2012.
