This Christopher Square bar has been a fixture of the neighborhood since Stonewall. Don't mind the wagon wheel chandeliers, just grab a seat at the bar and make a new friend. Things can get a little wild on Thursday nights - be sure to be nice to the guy at the grill (and the cuties behind the bar!)

Fun crowd and super strong drinks! And of course, still serving the burgers and fries you need when you want a bite!
Love this bar
From a different point of view, I am a big fan of older gents and I always seem to meet someone here. The place is nothing special to look at and it does seem like there are cliques, but I usually have a good time. I will say the burger is good, not sure about some of the reviews re how cheap the place is, I did not see it as that. I stop in once every couple of months as I do not live in the city. I almost always stop in when I am in town though.
old but charming
This historical bar is just a neighborhood dive, but is well worth checking out if you want a lowkey place to unwind. Crowd is older and mostly regulars. Only wish I could have sampled a burger with my draft beer.
My fav bar in NYC
Lowkey dive promises to showcase the best of Greenwhich Village, and doesn't feel as affected as the typical gay haunts. If you want a mellow time, check Julius and have stiff drinks and fun times.
