Fun, Easy Going, Great Drinks, Great Bartenders
Amazing place ... no pretense or attitude. The bartenders here are men and very respectable at that. I love the place and always will. It does not get any better. Unlike the Eagle, no posing or muscles needed. No twinks with attitude work or hang at Ty's. What a relief. The days of XL, Splash, G and twink hip might come back...but Ty's will still be doing what it does best. A place for all men who act, look and smell like men. Thanks Ty's
sucks
I have been here and the people are not friendly....everyone is in lala land. dont waste your time!!
Absolutely the best!
Friendly, lively, hot, convivial, this place just seems to get better and better with each passing year. Maybe because it's a bit out of the way (although only 3 or 4 blocks from Sheridan Square) and hasn't been overrun with "hip" straights. Mostly the place is full of gay men who are always friendly and easy to talk to. Very friendly and attractive bartenders. Many of the men may be over forty but they are still VERY active; this is not some quaint, sedate piano bar -- in fact, the place gets very cruisy, especially on weekends. Many bears here, but other kinds of guys also come and are welcome. Absolutely no attitude here! Highly recommended; quickly out-stripping B and S as the place to go!
My favorite in NYC
Great place. Friendly staff, relaxed macho manly crowd. Do yourslef a favor and go there the second Tuesday of each month for FireFlag night. Lots of hunky firefighters, as well as wannabees. But always fun. Great scenery.
So Friendly, Down-To-earth
If you're ever in the mood for a couple of drinks mid-afternoon, can't find a more agreeable Gay spot in the Village than Ty's. So welcoming, casual, and Daniel, the day bartender, is outgoing and great with the conversation. Crowd runs the gamut, from working stiff to white collar.
