absolutely must go!!!
This is by far my favorite gay bar in the city. The happy hour is unbeatable, the drinks will knock you out of your shoes, and the bartenders are all very cute and also very nice. Fun crowd, always lots of people. Gay sports bar indeed! You can ever play beer pong on the pool tables some nights (they have table tops for them, and charge $20 a person for 3 hours of u limited beer!) now, go!
Fun and sporty!
There's lots to love about Boxers, including the bartenders IN Boxers and nothing else. Both weekday Happy Hours I've been here were packed full of well dressed cute guys completely ignoring the sports on the TV's... until RuPaul's Drag Race started on Monday! LOVE the pizza bar in the back, which serves great little pies with cute kitchy names. A great place for a post-work beverage!
Nice place. Decent crowd
We were there the Saturday before Christmas, 2011. Had a nice crowd. Coat check guy was rude. Bartenders were very nice. Good drinks. However, the police came through like gangbusters! NYPD was randomly checking ID's and some where checking the bottles in the bar. No real raid, but very uncomfortable. We went outside and saw the two police vans! Hmmm didn't see anyone hauled away. Plenty of nervous customers!!! Probably not a regular thing, I hope. Maybe they need to be paying someone off better?? Good gathering place, but no real reason to be there. No dancing (but the DJ was awesome!) just a place to hang. Worthy of a repeat visit the next time we are in town.
