Metropolitan Museum of Art

(970 Ratings)
Big kid on the block
Featuring over 9,000 Years of Art, this enormous museum is the museum to end all museums (at least in New York). One could easily spend years in this museum and not see everything.

One of the Most Amazing Museums in the World

This is an amazing museum--a beautiful building in a beautiful setting with awesome collections. Before you go, try to plan what art you would most like to see, otherwise you will be totally overwhelmed. I recommend the 19th Century European paintings on the second floor, but whatever you prefer, try to find the appropriate sections that interest you. If you can't find them, don't be afraid to ask for help.
