ABOUT THE ART
A girl gives testimony to her assault while the mother of the accused drowns her out with different testimony. An antebellum free-thinking plantation mistress spars with the slave who “seduced” her husband. Meanwhile, the goddess Hera weaves her own epic of the reasons women blame each other for their victimhood.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gethsemane Herron is a playwright, poet, and teaching artist based in Washington, D.C. and Brooklyn, NY. In 2016, she was a semi-finalist for Rising Circle Theater Collective’s INKtank and participated in EMERGENYC, the Hemispheric New York Emerging Performers Program. Gethsemane is pursuing her MFA in Playwriting at Columbia University.
