Night Paving: The Aural History of Jackie 60 & MOTHER (Part of the High Line 'Up Late' program.) Created by artist Rob Roth, this audio installation takes the form of a ‘silent disco’ and presents a soundscape journey of storytelling and music with the producers, performers, and attendees of the legendary Tuesday club-night Jackie 60 and the nightclub MOTHER that it birthed. Night Paving will be presented as part of the ‘Up Late’ program on The High Line NYC on July 21st from 10pm – 12am (directly across from the original Jackie 60/MOTHER Nightclub space on 14th and Washington St.) Stories are shared from Mother’s creators Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell as well as performers, patrons and collaborators Kitty Boots, Debbie Harry, Anohni (Antony and the Johnsons), Alba Clemente, Richard Move, Basil Twist, Johnny Reinhold, Marc Jacobs, Jack Doroshow (aka Flawless Sabrina), Joey Arias, Lucy Sexton (Dancenoise), Rob Roth, Justin Vivian Bond, Genesis P-Orridge (Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle), Amanda Lepore, Penny Arcade and many many other “Jackie Legends” all to a soundtrack that evokes “That Jackie Feeling”.
