Celebrate Pride at MetFridays, with tons of events and featuring a silent dance party with Love Heals (Temple of Dendur 5-9 PM), Mix and Mingle LGBTQ Bar (Carroll and Milton Petrie European Sculpture Court 5-9 PM), performances by Ethel and Friends (Great Hall Balcony Bar, 6-6:30 PM, 7-8 PM), the NYC Gay Men's Chorus (Great Hall Balcony, 6:30 - 7 PM, 8:30 - 9 PM), poetry readings by DarkMatter (Thomas Watson Library, 1st Fl 6:45 - 7:15 PM and 8:15 - 8:45 PM) and much more. Detailed listing below. There will be a printed guide and map the day of the event.
Events are open to the public (no RSVP required) and FREE with museum entry.

2. GALLERY CONVERSATIONS - Flowers and Fragrance 6:30–7 PM and 7:30–8 PM
Claude Monet, The Path through the Irises, Floor 2, Gallery 822, The Annenberg Galleries
Join a dialogue between perfumer Alexis Karl and educator Deborah Goldberg to explore depictions of flowers and their natural scents, and discover an added dimension to these works of art.
3. GALLERY CONVERSATIONS - Reinventing Ourselves 6 - 6:30 PM, Floor 2, Gallery 910
How is identity constructed? Explore Modern and Contemporary art, the complexities of identity and how artists reinvent themselves and others.
4. PRIDE DANCE PARTY - Silent Dance Party with Love Heals 5–9 PM, Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing
Select your personal musical journey during this silent dance celebration. Beats provided by Rich Medina, Steve Travolta, Danny Krivit, and DJ Rekha. Hosted by Love Heals, the leading provider of HIV/AIDS education in NYC

Relax with music, cocktails, and appetizers, while looking out over the majestic Great Hall.

Experience the vibrant sounds and energy of GMC as they perform numbers from their “choralgraphy.”
7. POETRY PERFORMANCES: DarkMatter 6:45–7:15 PM and 8:15–8:45 PM, Thomas J Watson Library (Floor 1)
Enjoy poetry intertwined with science fiction, apocalypse, and riddles with Janani Balasubramanian of performance art duo DarkMatter.
8. PANEL CONVERSATION: Who We Are from the Inside Out 7:15–8:15 PM
Ground Floor, Bonnie J. Sacerdote Lecture Hall (limited seating)
Examine the cultural shift happening right now—where society is more curious than ever before to understand all the ways in which we are human. Speakers discuss personal experiences, artistic expression, and new ideas relating to gender, class, race, and regionality, and explore the topic of intersectionality. With:
Elijah Nealy: Licensed clinical social worker and out transgender man who teaches at Columbia School of Social Work, has a private practice, and works extensively with LGBT adolescents and adults in both pastoral and social service capacities
Jodie Patterson: Mother of five and an active LGBTQI ally who has been recognized for activism by The Advocate and GLAAD
Janet Mock: Gender rights activist, author, and television host
