Featuring long-time collaborators Marjani Forté-Saunders and Nia Love, Memory Withholdings examines how memory is held in the bodies and cultural traditions of African-descended peoples in the United States. Movement and installation elements are woven together to explore how shared histories are embodied and become rooted in communities.
Memory Withholdings is presented as part of being Here...in Memory, on view at MoCADA from May 7-July 10, 2016. For more information, please visit www.mocada.org.
being Here…in Memory is made possible with support from Surdna Foundation.
