The #NYCCannabisParade is one of the longest running public expressions of cannabis culture and political activism. The rally is an inclusive and peaceful celebration of the “cannabis culture” that spans national, cultural and racial divisions. It is also a political event demanding an end to prohibition, which has been proven to be a disaster.
In 1999, almost 30 years since its founding, this event turned into the #GlobalMarijuanaMarch and spread to approximately 300 cities around the world. The event in New York City occurs annually on the first Saturday in May, and in other cities around the world throughout April to June.
