Since its inception in 1965, the Petroushka Ball has been attended by over 700 guests representing business, artistic and diplomatic spheres.
The Ball is known for not only being a uniquely elegant affair but also a surprisingly electric one, with traditional Russian and gypsy dances going well into the morning hours to the sound of vibrant folk and balalaika music.
All net proceeds from the 51st Petroushka Ball will be directed towards Russian Children’s Welfare Society’s charitable programs. Among them are educational scholarships for orphans, medical treatment for children with severe facial deformities, assistance to orphanages, rehabilitation programs for children with special needs, a “Yelka” (New Year and Christmas tree) party in Moscow for over 1,000 disadvantaged children visiting from many areas of Russia. At present, RCWS awards full scholarships to 86 college students in Pskov, Yaroslavl, Moscow and Velikiy Novgorod regions. RCWS is a 501 c3 US non-profit organization and all contributions are tax deductible.
