Nursed on the teat of television and nourished by the milk of popular culture, we seek liberation from the tyranny of the laptop and a return to the ritual of shared television viewing. We gather the First Tuesday of each month at Jerome’s on the Lower East Side. Each month a different member of the collective hosts the evening and hand-picks a group of guest curators who screen 15-minute sets of their favorite film and television clips… independent film shorts; vintage TV commercials; Oprah breakdowns; video art; music videos; and cinema that runs the gamut from Hollywood to Bollywood. The screenings are punctuated by musical interludes courtesy of resident DJ Amber Martin (Mattachine) spinning from her extensive and eclectic vinyl collection.
