After almost 4 years of Absurdity and about 85 shows of original and creative content, Bushwick Burlesque has become known around the world as where the weird is, in NYC. It’s a mantle we’ve worked hard to earn and we want to share it with all of you. This month we once again break from our regular scheduled performance to present a very special event. The 2nd Annual Mx. Bushwick Burlesque Pageant!!
We’ve asked for submissions, and we chose 10 performers who stand out as frequent collaborators, guests, inspirations and reliable masterminds of the absurdest cabaret. This month, we present a friendly competition to watch the masters at work, as they jockey for the title and crown of Mx. Bushwick Burlesque!
The contestants for the 2nd Annual Mx. Bushwick Burlesque Pageant are:

-Titano Oddfellow
-Betsy Propane
-Peter Peter
-Dick Jones
-Velvet Crayon
-Lefty Lucy
-Jack Sullivan
-The Spill Sisters
-Korilla the Gorilla
-Rev. Mother Flash [Mr(s). Vagina Dentata 2015]
Sure the title comes with a tiara and sash (hand painted by Scary Ben), but more importantly, the winner will be invited to “join our brand”, as up to at least 24 bookings over the next year.
We're seeking to highlight more than just visual appeal, we want to know how their minds work too! So, the pageant will be broken up into three segments;
*interview,
*artist statement video
*and without a doubt the PERFORMANCE!
Naturally Darlinda Just Darlinda and Scary Ben will be the judges along with our good friend and inspiration TIGGER! along with a few AUDIENCE MEMBERS CHOSEN AT RANDOM!!! This is a community based show, so we want you, the audience, to have a voice as well!!!
