VAUGHN BERGEN has been studying palmistry even since he learned to read. His first teacher was his mother, a master of palmistry who is writing the most comprehensive book on palmistry in over 100 years (to be released this year, Inner Traditions, NY). He is also a student of his mother's teacher and writing partner, Ellen Goldberg. Vaughn is delighted to be here and is looking forward to being your guide towards self-discovery.
“It has been the endeavor of all those whom the world has reverenced for superior wisdom, to persuade man to be acquainted with himself, to learn his own powers and his own weakness, to observe by what evils he is most dangerously beset, and by what temptations most easily overcome.” - Dr. Samuel Johnson

H.I.P. Lit is an event series based in Bushwick, Brooklyn that spotlights authors on the cutting-edge of the writing scene. While books are at the heart of H.I.P., our events incorporate film, visual art and music to form an immersive experience that brings stories to life and creative people together. H.I.P. Lit is hosted by publishing professionals and MFA graduates Erin Harris, Brittney Inman and Kim Perel. We believe authors deserve audiences and literature deserves a party. Join our community and celebrate with us at Be Electric Studios. Learn more at hiplit.tumblr.com.
*The Hideaway is H.I.P. Lit's new library, currently under construction, situated in the lofted space at Be Electric Studios. Our vision is to fill it with books, art, and cool people like you. We hope to have monthly, salon-like gatherings there, where folks can mingle, discover books, and share their own work.
