Documenting Sex is a series of talks and panel discussions conceived by artist, Richard John Jones, that accompany the programme of the first edition of the NYC Porn Film Festival 2015. The programme features perspectives from within the porn industry but also, crucially, from contemporary art and experimental film. The programme aims to create a long term platform to reflect upon contemporary pornography through the exploration of its historical significance. The main themes running throughout the programme will reflect upon porn as a document of sexual practice, the pornographer as documentary film-maker,the intimate connection between porn and experimental film and also moving-image work that shows acts of sex but finds itself within other channels of film and video distribution.
The NYC Porn Film Festival is presented by Pornhub.com and kindly supports this programme.
