According to Vickie Phillips, music is what feelings feel like. No greater feelings can be expressed than keeping the promise Vickie made to her son 13 years ago, two days before his soul took flight. Pancreatic Cancer that metastasized to his liver, cutting his life short a year and 3 months later. "I promise I will not stop performing when you are no longer in this world, Kirk". So now, to honor Kirk's memory, Vickie has joined forces with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center for this March 19th Benefit.

In this special show, most songs have been written by "friends" — actual friends like Sheldon Harnick and Gerry Dieffenbach, her musical director; others who have become like friends because of their music like Lieber and Stoller, Peter Allen, Craig Carnelia, Cryer and Ford, Maltby and Shire, Eric Blau, and
Aznavour....... as she makes each song she sings her personal friend.
"Vickie's personality, skill, experience and choice of material add up to a richly entertaining experience." — Sheldon Harnick, Tony Award Winning Composer of Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves, Fiorello, The Rothschilds
2014 Bistro Award Winner Review - Song Interpretation
"There's something special about Phillips' interpretations. She can be dramatic without resorting to histrionics — like someone with nothing to prove, who fully grasps the soul of a song and wants simply to share it with the audience." — Roy Sander
Voted Top 13 of 2013
"A veteran of clubs for a few decades, Phillips has become a master of the art form and a blueprint for how to do it right: pick great material, act and sing it with conviction, love what you are doing and love your audience." — Kevin Scott Hall, Edge Media
"Phillips filled the evening with mirth, affection, emotion and some songs to relish. Who could ask for more?" — Peter Leavy, Cabaret Scenes
