What is the difference between performance art burlesque, neo burlesque and classic burlesque? Ah the question of the century! In Performance Art Burlesque at The New York School of Burlesque students learned that performance art is easily and often accidentally integrated into what we know as Neo-Burlesque. International Performance Art Star and Producer Darlinda Just Darlinda curated this series focusing on the alternative, narrative, humorous, political, queer, and quirky side of neo-burlesque. The students created acts that are bound to entertain shock and excite the most artsy-fartsy performance lovers! Darlinda Just Darlinda hosts the evening with her Bushwick Burlesque Co-Producer Scary Ben with performances by, Miss Bushwick Burlesque:Fancy Feast, Foxy Tann, Baby LeStrange and New York School of Burlesque Students:Matt Knife, Dottie Riot, Ava LaRoux, GiGi Surreal, Bixie Boxspring, Ms. Diane Amore, and Joyce LeeAnn! The NY School of Burlesque combines direct training from the most glamorous performers of the 1940s–1960s with the freshness, mischief and creativity of the most prolific neo-burlesque scene in the world! Our founders and instructors are international rockstars, and our former students are some of the most popular, innovative, and sparkling entertainers on the scene today!
