Based on a document brought to life by two scholars in 1995. It is apparently the only surviving legal process from 14th century London on same-sex intercourse. The case stands not only as a rare source for the history of transvestite and homosexually active people in late 1395 Medieval England, but also as evidence of the suppression of that history by scholarly historians in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The outcome of the case is not known. Nor is it known if the case was also prosecuted as sodomy in Church courts. It is not even clear if a formal charge was made.
Details of the case are to be addressed in a narrative theater & dance attraction directed by original Cockette Rumi Missabu aka James Bartlett slated for a world premiere one night only Saturday, April 11th @ the LGBT Community Center in New York City
