A cold winter is coming, so at this week's ACT UP meeting, we'll collect coats and other clothing for the young clients at New Alternatives.
New Alternatives for LGBT Homeless Youth was created in October, 2008 by a group of volunteers and professionals with experience working with homeless LGBT youth to increase their self-sufficiency, empowering them to go beyond the "shelter" system. It's primarily run by ACT UP member Kate Barnhart.
Bring your clean coats, sweaters, and other lightly used clothing to this Mon's ACT UP meeting, and we'll take them to New Alternatives afterwards.
