Our first annual LIME celebration salutes community activist and Chutney Pride founder TINA ARNIOTIS, who's pioneering events provided a queer Caribbean social space when there were few. GERARD GASKIN and his acclaimed art book "Legendary", which captures another pioneering space, the "ballroom" scene, in exquisite photography; award-winning singer NHOJJ, performing from his beautiful 2014 album "Made To Love Him", his fifth studio collection; and Caribbean-owned ALJIRA, A Center for Contemporary Arts, which, in its 30th year, is now a Newark institution.
We will have additional highlights, including the poetry of Anton Nimblett (Sections of an Orange) and a first look at Gavin Ramoutar's film, Antiman.
This event is FREE and PUBLIC, please share this milestone event with your networks, and remember to RSVP to events@urbanandout.com!
