Have you considered dance auditions but scared to come out of your shell? Too much pressure?
Chris and Ryan will narrow down the nitty-gritties and tell it like it is in this NYCGMC movement workshop for our members to learn dance technique and basic style, and improve onstage performance. From jazz hands to pas de bourree (and just maybe, twerking), this workshop is for everyone -- informative, fun, and with added benefit of getting your fitness on.
It will be a light and vibrant atmosphere without the stress of auditioning and casting: a perfect place to challenge yourself to learn and tap into something amazing without apprehension or fear!
The goal is to dispel the myth that you "CAN'T" dance. Everyone can dance. It is what you do with that dance that makes the difference. So come join us!
This event is for all members, granted that they are willing to shed their inhibition, improve on their skills, and ready to have fun in a dance studio setting.
The class consists of 30 min warm-up, 60 min musical theater (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and 60 min modern/street jazz (music TBD).
The event is free but donations are welcome. A drinking social will proceed at Boxers Chelsea shortly after.
