NOW IS THE TIME TO END THE AIDS EPIDEMIC IN NEW YORK: WORLD AIDS DAY 2013 RALLY: 2:00 P.M.
WHO: ACRIA, ACT UP, GMHC, HOUSING WORKS AND NEARLY 1000 MEMBERS OF NEW YORK's HIV/AIDS COMMUNITY.
WHY: We are marking the 25th commemoration of World AIDS DAY by declaring that now is the time to end AIDS as an epidemic here in New York State.
New York State has also been the center of activist, community, government and scientific innovation and collaboration in responding to the AIDS pandemic.
New York State has the people, institutions, resources and political will to end our AIDS epidemic and to become a leader nationally and globally in showing how to end AIDS.
Demand that Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio get behind the plan to turn the tide on HIV and spend the resources necessary to do it. HIV infections are on the rise in some populations of NY-ers, and we can't get near the end of AIDS until we slow infections in ALL age, ethnic, gender and income groups.
ACT UP New York members Jim Eigo and Mateo Rodriguez will be speaking at the event.
ACT UP NY meets every Mon night at 7pm at the LGBT Center on 13th St.
