The Crystal Ark album release party and video premiere featuring a performance by The Crystal Ark Party Machine and a screening of the new Crystal Ark video "We Came To" directed by Viva Ruiz w/ special guest DJs Todd Terry, Carry Nation (DJ Will Automagic & Nita Aviance), and Allies for Everyone 11.14.12 Grammy Award nominated DJ/Producer Todd Terry has been engulfed in dance music since he first started listening to European dance music records while growing up in Brooklyn. Already devoted to turntables, he heard something different in those tracks, and he “went for the difference. I never got a break in New York, but England happened right away, so I catered to them.” In any event, the Todd Terry sound was born. **************************************** The Crystal Ark Party Machine is an evolving work performed by a modular group of Crystal Ark band members and led by Gavin Russom and Viva Ruiz. It channels the energy and message of the band into the nightclub atmosphere directly and with the volume up. Rather than performing the music of The Crystal Ark live, the group uses the framework of a DJ set with live singing, synthesizer and movement to present music that has inspired them mixed with jacked up edits of the band’s songs. The Crystal Ark Party Machine creates a concentrated blast of energy unbounded by genre, style or category.
