Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love and Fashion is the newest fat positive anthology from Seal Press. A collection of 31 stories written by fierce fat women, Hot & Heavy is an unapologetic call to arms and an ode to body liberation. The stories in the book have enormous range: April Flores writes about her life in the adult industry as a plus-sized woman, Erin Kilpatrick/Cherry Tart, a burlesque performer, writes about how her fat literally saved her life after a horrible car crash, Shawna Peters writes about journeys toward her fat vulva, Christa Trueman writes about how her daughter became the key to ending a legacy of shame she was taught about her body.
