Friday:
The weekend begins with an hour long casual panel conversation about Homophobia and LGBT Acceptance in the Athletic World from 4.00pm - 5.00pm.
Panelists include:
Johnny Weir, three-time U.S. National Champion Figure Skater
Wade Davis, former American football player who recently came out and has spoken on what it was like to be closeted in the NFL
Hudson Taylor, prominent straight ally, LGBT rights activist and wrestling coach at Columbia University.
The panel is followed by a speech from 5.30pm to 6.00pm given by Zach Wahls, vocal LGBT ally, made famous by a video that went viral of Wahls giving a speech in an Iowa courtroom defending his family - which consists of himself, his sister, and their two mothers.
The night will end with an opening reception cocktail party to be held at the Tribeca Grand. Open bar of Penfolds wine and cocktails, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, and will be hosted by prominent members of the LGBTA community.
Saturday:
The second day of StraightTalk involves three casual panel conversations covering a range of topics. The topics include “Politics and the LGBT Debate”, “Corporate America, Brand Loyalty, and Marketing”, and “Media, Music, and Film.”
We will end the evening with a film screening followed by a question and answer session.
Sunday:
On the final day, dot429 is proud to present The Anti-Bully Project, a pro-social initiative by dot429 to bring together concerned members from the LGBTA community to highlight the importance of taking a stand against bullying, and develop an action plan on how we can put a stop to bullying and its tragic consequences.
Panel discussion will be led by TV personality Steph Watts. Panelists include celebrities, lawmakers, educators, activists, parents, bullies, and those who have been affected by social abuse.
The panel will run from 12.00pm to 1.00pm, followed by a Sunday Brunch to close out the StraightTalk weekend.
Sunday Brunch will be held in the Salon of the Tribeca Grand Hotel from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and will be hosted by prominent LGBTA professionals from the dot429 community.
