Went there twice, at different times, both times it was empty. Once was on a Saturday night. The bar itself was sad and the staff unfreindly. Give it a miss and head down to Ty's.

I always have the best time here. I have met many beautiful men at the Dugout. It doesnt have the sleeze factor like the other bars on Christopher St. Come down and lets meet for a drink or a beer on Sunday!!

i love this place, the patrons, the bartenders, everyone is so friendly!! I am straight but this is never a problem when I go there. My friends love this place...everyone makes you feel welcomed. The drinks are priced nicely, and the happy hour is great! I think the best is the Sunday Beer Bash!! Get your butt here on Sunday ...wow!!

O have been to The Dugout on several occassions, and everytime I find the people there to be very friendly. Everyone always has a smile on. The Sunday Beer Bash is ALWAYS packed! There are all types of guys there, old, young, skinny, fat. They have made some recent changes in the decor. Be sure to check out the mens room! OMG.

After several visits, we have found this establishment to be very crowded and far from the train station. Many of the patrons are awfully standoffish and, in a word, snobs, among other negative attitudes we have experienced. We may never waste our time and money there ever again.

Back in the days when this place was called the Ramrod -- the second bar in the area to have that name -- and for a couple of years afterward, it was very hot and crowded, and probably still is -- in the summer months when Christopher Street fills with people. In the winter, however, the place is pretty dead except for, I'm told, the cocktail hour and Sunday afternoons. I've tried this place several times on weekends and week nights and there are never more than half a dozen people in the evenings. The trouble is that it's out of the way, quite a distance from the Sheridan Square train station, and also that it always seems to close early, before eleven. Certainly not worth the long walk from the train station for visitors, who should definitely try out Ty's instead, which is on the way and closer.

Very overcrowded, but I guess that's just NYC for ya. A nice place though, great guys, friendly and reasonable.
So, what do you say?
