I have been going to Splash for years and consider it an ole stand by if I am in NYC alone. It is a big bar with plenty of places to hang out, dance, or try to meet people. The dance floor is very fun and friendly. The go go boys are a great distraction between dancing and chatting...

I took my straight brother here 20 minutes after I came out to him. People thought we were a couple.
Generally fun, but can be too dark for my liking.

Yes it's great. I thought the bar staff in their deliciously skimpy Diesels were wonderful, the cabaret hilarious, the party-goers friendly. The drinks pricing was rather random, my drinks cost a fortune but by hubby's drinks were cheap (is someone not telling me something?). The bar staff were very chatty and friendly, they were great.... will go there next time I'm in NYC.

Tons of friendly people here, great place to dance, drink prices are different in each bar... really 5.50 - 10 dollars that was weird. Go-go boys are hot and some hilarious. I love go and end my night here and dance! dance dance!

i am visiting from los angeles,ca i was so excited to visit this place. i went on line i saw some of the pictures of the place and it looked very nice. so decided to go with my friend..on 09-16-2009 .don't give me wrong the place is nice..the dancer (go go dancer) or whatever you want to call them ....because i think they have the wrong title..are so pushy...never seen any like it...i feel like a was in a foreigh country..where dancers see americans with dollar and they all go after that, because.they are so hungry for money..it was ridiculous...the dancers basically..steel your money...oh too much..i love dances and love to tip them..but no like that when they are so aggressive...please give me a break..i'll never go back to this place again..and if you don't want to be chased around by "go-go dancers" this is not a place for you

I go to Splash Bar every time I am in NYC (about once a year.) There are 3 bars--two flanking the dance floor and one downstairs. If you go, bring your cash because the cover is $20. Drinks are on the pricey side also; I paid $6.50 for a rum & coke, if I remember right. Having said that, the bartenders (in their underwear, no less!) are hot, and so are the go-go guys. Gotta love those New York studmuffins! Eye candy is most everywhere. It used to be that you could hook up with a hottie (patron, not employee!) and make out in a dark corner, but SBNY's beefed up security doesn't allow that anymore, so watch out.

I loved it! Went on a Thursday night for Campus night. The place was packed but not to packed, the dance floor was popin and the Music was Amazing. Drinks were at about 7 dollars. And cover was 5. Not to crazy and well worth it for the sexy crowd this place brings in. :) Well worth going!!! Already planned two more trips to this club...this time with a hotel room close by to crash at after dancing my feet off all night

This club is a good place if your between the ages of 21- 35, You must be 21 to get in!!! Please bring ID to avoid disappointment. The drinks are approx $ 7.50 each and the usual Club charge is around $5.00. If you get there early like 7+ you will buy 1 drink and get 1 free and no club charge. The boys are good looking and the crowd is awesome people who like to have fun. Campus Thursday is the best if you like younger males, I don’t recommend it if your over 35 on a Thursday night unless you’re a fan of younger guys.

$20 at the door, tiny drinks at high prices ($6-7.50/drink) with a whole lot of attitude from carb-starved bartenders. I guess I'd be cranky too if my undies were my uniform and my diet consisted of canned tuna and protein shakes.
I was expecting so much more from this place. As far as gay clubs go, this one was alright, but overpriced with sloppy dancers. It is what it is. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
We went on a Saturday.

Went there pride weekend. I ordered a drink, which was so small. I asked the bartender, "Is this is a sample?" The people were friendly. I got cruised a little. But the crowd wasn't there. Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child was there, performing upstairs. I passed on that. I was hassled by management because I had my shoes off and propped up on the table. I was tired. It was a long day. She hovered. We had words. She eventually moved on. $30 at the door. I purchased in advance online for $20. I doubt if I'll ever go back.

Went on a Sunday, pretty lame you're better off trying to get in at Vlada on W51st that's were the party seems to be and had a line to get in! Few cute go go boys running around on the bars and music is awesome that's about it!

There is no other place I would rather be on Monday night than at Splash for Musical Mondays. The selection of music videos from Broadway (and Movie) Musicals is unparalleled anywhere, and the crowd is so much fun! Happy hour goes late (until 9), which gets the evening off on the right foot. The cover on weekends can be a bit excessive, but it is one of the few great clubs left in the city.

Went there for the first time last weekend. It cost $20 to get in. The music was terrible. The dick dancers were ugly. The croud was young guys trying to pick up old guys. The only good thing with this club/bar was the bar staff was in underware and no shirts. It was nice ordering a beer from a semi naked good looking guy.

Thursday night it was great, but Sat night it seems like a different crowd shows up with not such hot dancers. If I go back it will be for Thursday nights.
Now about those bathrooms downstairs........ don't get too excited about peeking. The security guards are paranoid about it and try to discourage guys who go there just to peek. They actually push open the bathroom stall doors to see if you are urinating or just there to look. I guess if you go to piss and take a peek while you are there it's ok.

My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend and stopped in for our first time. I thought the cover was a bit excessive but once we saw the hot bartenders in their underwear we quickly forgot about that!! The music was thumping and the light show was cool. We had a great time and plan to come back on our next visit!! Fun place, a little naughty but not sleazy!! Enjoy!

If you want hot this is really hot! So much so the staff don't wear very much!

Oh Yeah, I guess it's Splash again.. Who can keep up? It is nice now, though. I do like the setup. The cocktail waiters are super nice.. Great place to meet up with friends.

AKA "SBNY" (not SPNY)
It has always been a "tourist bar", but I have enjoyed it. The last few times, however, the cover charge was $15 to $20 and there was NOTHING to warrant it! The music is consistently bland... basically the same beat for hours (the kind that sort of forces you to just step-touch-step-touch from side to side). The light show is run of the mill as well. Cover at The Roxy is only slightly higher, and there is NO comparison! I have vowed never to go back to SBNY unless I hear some massive changes have taken place.

Many longtime New Yorker's can't believe that this once free bridge-and-tunnel "dance bar" favorite now often charges the kind of hefty cover that one expects to pay at a full-fledged club. Still, Splash (aka SPNY) still manages to pack them in. I do have to credit them with keeping the space fresh with massive renovations every few years. The most recent round brought urinals that face a translucent wall overlooking the downstairs bar...quite naughty!
So, what do you say?
