Chelsea nightime hangout, "Java Boy" coffee bar during the day
Ever since next door neighbor Big Cup closed, The View has taken on the role of a coffee shop during the day. After dark, the drinks come out. Dance music videos play on the TV monitors and the back lounge is the place for "The View" a cheesy david letterman-esque painted fake NY skyline.

THIS BAR WAS REALLY COOL. WENT IN AT NOON ON A SUNDAY EXPECTING A MUNDANE AFTERNOON... BUT GOT QUITE THE OPPOSITE. THE TWO BAR TENDERS { JOHN AND ANGEL} WERE REALLY COOL. FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, CHATTY. WE ONLY POPPED IN FOR ONE BEER AND B4 WE KNEW IT WE WERE A LITTLE TIPSEY AND VERY HAPPY!! WOULD DEFINATLEY RECOMMEND THIS BAR. THE BAR ITSELF IS REALLY CHIILED OUT WITH OPEN FRONT FRENCH DOORS. AND ITS REALLY CLEAN TOO. GIVE IT A TEN STAR IF I COULD.

Recently moved to NYC & the guys working at VIEW were great to me & made me feel very welcome in NYC. I've been going there ever since. Fun theme nights, can't get enough of there pineapple martinis, & the view IS suppose to be of the foot traffic on 8th Ave so grab a drink, pull up a chair 7 watch the "parade" pass by.

It's actually a good place to hang out if you can get a table near the front and can watch the promenade up and down 8th. Not so much to see now that Big Cup next door closed.. Not the most fabulous place, but good to meet for a drink and catch up..
So, what do you say?
